Dunedin Highlanders Name Rashad Payne as Assistant General Manager / Director of Player Personnel

DUNEDIN, FL – 2025-08-20 - The Dunedin Highlanders proudly announce the appointment of Rashad Payne as the team’s new Assistant General Manager and Director of Player Personnel. In this role, Payne will work directly with General Manager Chris Housholder on player recruitment, scouting, and overseeing all aspects of football operations as the Highlanders continue to build a championship-caliber organization.

A native of Ruskin, Florida, and standout athlete at Lennard High School, Payne went on to play Division I football at the University of Central Florida (UCF). Known for his physicality and dynamic skill set, Payne carried his talents to the professional level, competing in the National Arena League (NAL) with the Orlando Predators and the Jacksonville Sharks in 2021. He later joined the San Antonio Gunslingers, earning a reputation for his high-energy, two-way play, before signing with the Iowa Barnstormers of the Indoor Football League (IFL) in 2022.

Throughout his career, Payne has been respected for his toughness, speed, and versatility—qualities that not only defined him as a player but now fuel his transition into football operations. His ability to evaluate talent, inspire athletes, and bring out the best in those around him will serve as an asset to the Highlanders both on and off the field.

Founded in 2024, the Dunedin Highlanders are a pro developmental football team dedicated to excellence, growth, and community pride. After a breakout inaugural season in the EAFL, the team is poised to take its next step in the UFL under new Head Coach Darien Bell.
