Duke Dumont Named Assistant General Manager of Dunedin Highlanders

DUNEDIN, FL - 2025-05-27

The Dunedin Highlanders are proud to announce the hiring of Duke Dumont as the team's new Assistant General Manager, effective immediately. The announcement was made today by General Manager Chris Housholder.

Dumont joins The Highlanders after serving as Head Coach of the West Coast Warriors in the EAFL during the 2025 season, where he was widely recognized for his leadership and ability to build competitive rosters under pressure. In addition to his executive role, Dumont will also join Head Coach Bell’s staff as a coach beginning in the 2026 season, contributing directly to the team’s on-field development and strategy. This dual-role appointment reflects The Highlanders’ commitment to a cohesive vision from front office to sideline.

A veteran football mind, Dumont brings an extensive and versatile background in both coaching and football operations. Prior to his time with the Warriors, he served as Offensive Coordinator for the Hernando County Hawks during the 2023–2024 season, where he was instrumental in revitalizing the team’s offensive performance, significantly increasing both scoring output and player efficiency.

From 2015 to 2021, Dumont served as Quarterbacks Coach and Offensive Coordinator at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), where he developed multiple all-conference performers and helped modernize the program’s passing attack. His quarterback development skills and ability to lead dynamic offensive units were hallmarks of his time at UTEP.

His collegiate résumé also includes a key role at Western New Mexico University, where he served as Quarterbacks Coach and Passing Game Coordinator, further showcasing his expertise in building high-efficiency offenses through meticulous scheming and player development.

At the high school level, Dumont coached at both Sarasota High School and Riverview High School, where he held dual roles as Varsity Assistant Head Coach and Freshman Head Coach. His leadership and ability to mentor athletes at various stages of development helped lay a strong foundation for long-term program success. Dumont also spent time as an individual skills coach at the prestigious IMG Academy, working with elite-level prospects on position-specific technique and football IQ.

“Duke will be a huge asset to The Dunedin Highlanders,” said GM Chris Housholder. “His vision and philosophy align perfectly with mine, and I’m confident that his leadership will elevate our football operations to the next level. This is not just a hire—it's an investment in our long-term success.”

In his new role, Dumont will oversee The Highlanders’ scouting and recruiting operations for the 2025–2026 seasons, focusing on identifying and acquiring top talent to strengthen the team’s competitive standing and deepen its developmental pipeline. His hands-on experience with player evaluation, team-building, and game-day execution makes him uniquely suited for this strategic leadership position.

The Dunedin Highlanders are excited to welcome Duke Dumont to both the front office and, starting in 2026, the coaching staff. His multifaceted experience, proven track record, and deep understanding of the game will be an invaluable asset to the organization’s continued growth and success.

The Highlanders will continue to add high-quality coaches and staff for the 2026 season. If you would like to be considered, email your résumé to HighlandersFB@gmail.com
