Highlanders Stun EAFL with Coachless Playoff Victory - Launch Bold New Campaign

Dunedin, FL – 2025-05-24 - In a historic and unprecedented performance, The Dunedin Highlanders delivered a commanding 42-20 victory over the Florida Bereans in the first round of the EAFL playoffs — without a single coach on the sidelines.

With no official coaching staff present, the players took full control, designing and installing their own game plan just two days before the matchup. On game day, they executed flawlessly, calling their own plays and proving that innovation and unity can triumph under pressure.

The final score could have been even more lopsided, as the Highlanders had three additional touchdowns called back due to penalties.

“We shocked the league yet again,” said Highlanders General Manager Chris Housholder. “I told the players all week to ignore the noise and play for each other. What you saw today was the result of belief, preparation, and leadership on the field. The players are to be commended for persevering through adversity. This is a special group of men. The league has never seen anything like this.”

Known for their bold approach, the Highlanders are embracing their reputation as trendsetters and disruptors. “We are doing it our way — the Highlander way,” Housholder added.

In celebration of the victory, the team also launched its new campaign: “If You Can’t Beat Them, Join Them.” 2025 EAFL Players whose season is over may now join the Highlanders for the 2026 season. For a limited time, they will receive a $50 discount on their Player Fee for 2026.
